Michael Jordan, Pehong Chen Distinguished Professor at UC Berkeley, offers his perspective on the current state and future of ML and AI, in his talk, “The Decision-Making Side of Machine Learning: Computational, Inferential and Economic Perspectives”.
Following Prof. Jordan’s talk, Ion Stoica, Professor at UC Berkeley and Director of RISELab, will present:
“The Future of Computing is Distributed”
The demands of modern workloads, such as machine learning, are growing much faster than the capabilities of a single-node computer. This leaves us with no choice but to distribute these workloads.
Afterward, the two will come together for Q&A and a panel discussion, moderated by Dean Wampler.
